When you use Achordim, we may collect:
- Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account.
- User Content: Songs you create, save, or upload to our service, including chord charts, lyrics, and songbook organization.
- Camera Data: When you use the chord chart scanner, your device camera captures images of chord sheets. These images are processed for chord extraction and are not stored on our servers after processing.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use the app, including features accessed, session data, and subscription status.
- Device Information: Browser type, device type, operating system, and device identifiers for multi-device management.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Achordim service
- Save and sync your songs and songbooks across devices
- Process scanned chord chart images for chord extraction
- Enable live session features for worship teams
- Manage your subscription and account
- Provide offline access to your songs via local caching
- Improve our services and user experience
- Communicate important updates about the service
3. Device Permissions
Achordim may request access to the following device features:
- Camera: Used to photograph chord charts and sheet music for chord extraction. Camera access is only activated when you use the scanner feature. Images are processed and are not permanently stored.
- Microphone: Used for metronome and audio pad features. Audio is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
- Local Storage (IndexedDB): Used to cache your songs and songbooks locally for offline access. This data remains on your device.
4. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud Platform). We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data only in these circumstances:
- With your consent
- To comply with legal obligations
- To protect our rights and safety
- With service providers who assist in operating our app:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, and hosting
- PayPal: Subscription payment processing
6. Live Sessions
When you create or join a live session, other participants in that session can see the song content being shared. Session codes are temporary and sessions can be ended at any time by the leader.
7. Public Songs
When you submit a song for public sharing, it goes through a reviewer approval process. Approved public songs are visible to all users. You retain ownership of your content and can remove it from public sharing at any time.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your songs
- Revoke camera and microphone permissions at any time through your device settings
- Opt out of non-essential communications
9. Cookies and Local Storage
We use local storage to save your preferences (such as theme, language, display settings) and maintain your session. We also use IndexedDB for offline song caching. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless necessary for functionality.
10. Children's Privacy
Achordim is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
